Foundation of Low Yat Group
- Low Yat Construction Company Sdn Bhd was founded by the late Tan Sri Low Yat.
1948
Construction of Capitol Hotel
- The Capitol Hotel in Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur, is the first hotel constructed by Low Yat Group
1957
Malaysia's First International Hotel
- The Federal Hotel in Bukit Bintang, Malaysia’s first international hotel, was opened on the 28th of August by the 1st Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj
1963
Malaysia's First Revolving Restaurant
- The Federal Hotel was expanded to 21 storeys with Malaysia’s first revolving restaurant placed on the 18th floor
1969
Dual-Listing on KLSE and SES
- Low Yat Group was listed on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (now known as Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad) and on the Stock Exchange of Singapore Limited.
1973
Langkawi's First Hotel Development
- The first hotel in Langkawi - the 100-room Langkawi Country Club (now known as Westin Langkawi Resort & Spa) - was developed and completed by Low Yat Group
1978
Coastal Expansion to Port Dickson
- Completion of The Federal Hotel Port Dickson, bringing 159 rooms, convention space, and Port Dickson's first hotel shopping arcade to the coastal destination.
1980
Mount Pleasure Resort Penang
- Developed and completed Mount Pleasure Resort in Penang, a 57-acre resort township that comprises condominiums, town houses, and a sports and recreational centre.
1981
Setapak Garden Completion
- Completed Setapak Garden, delivering 200 units of mixed residential housing and shop houses in Setapak, Kuala Lumpur.
Gombak Court & Flats Development
- Developed Gombak Court and Gombak Flats to provide modern, medium-cost apartment living in Gombak, Kuala Lumpur.
Kenny Hills Luxury Apartments
- Expanded into premier residential developments with luxury apartments in Kenny Hills, Kuala Lumpur.
1985
First-Class Hotel in Singapore
- The Federal Hotel Singapore was developed and completed as a first-class hotel in Singapore, boasting 255 rooms
1986
Premier Hotel in KL
- Completed The Prince Hotel Kuala Lumpur (now Meliá Kuala Lumpur), delivering a 300-room premier hotel asset in Bukit Bintang.
1986
The Ferringhi Beach Hotel Penang
- Developed The Ferringhi Beach Hotel Penang (now DoubleTree Resort by Hilton), a 350-room resort completed in time for the April 1986 PATA Conference.
1990
Pioneering Integrated Urban Development
- Pioneered integrated urban development with the completion of City Square Centre on Jalan Tun Razak, incorporating the 576-room Crown Princess Hotel, the 62-storey Grade A Empire Tower, and City Square Shopping Complex.
1993
First Property Acquisition in Sydney
- Acquired a commercial property in Rushcutters Bay, Sydney, Australia, for redevelopment into prime residential apartments and a hotel
1994
Property Man of The Year Award
- The late Tan Sri Datuk Seri Low Yow Chuan was awarded the ‘Property Man of The Year’ by FIABCI-Malaysia.
1995
Acquisition of The Historic Grace Building
- Low Yat Group acquires the Historic Grace Building in Sydney, Australia.
1996
Hotel Fairlane Completion
- Completed the construction of Hotel Fairlane, a 255-room first-class hotel situated in the heart of Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur.
1997
Major Hospitality Redevelopments
- Completed the landmark redevelopment of Hotel Capitol Kuala Lumpur, opening a modern 235-room hotel in Bukit Bintang.
Restoration of The Grace Building
- Restored Sydney’s historic Grace Building, converting it into the 382-room Grace Hotel and Grace Plaza in the heart of the CBD.
1998
Launch of Bandar Tasik Puteri Township
- Officially launched Bandar Tasik Puteri in Rawang, transforming 2,670 acres into a vibrant, integrated master-planned community.
Bintang Fairlane Residences
- Completed Bintang Fairlane Residences, introducing 256 premium serviced suites across two blocks in Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur.
1999
Launch of Plaza Low Yat
- Opened Plaza Low Yat in Bukit Bintang, establishing Malaysia’s premier IT lifestyle destination (later recognised as Malaysia's Largest IT Lifestyle Mall).
Tasik Puteri Golf & Country Club
- Completed the Tasik Puteri Golf and Country Club, featuring a championship 27-hole golf course within Bandar Tasik Puteri, Selangor.
Sydney Harbourside & Marina One
- Expanded operations in Sydney with the completion of the 245-room Rushcutters Harbourside Hotel and Marina One, a 78-unit luxury residential development in the Eastern Suburbs.
2004
Rivercity Condominium Completion
- The Rivercity Condominium, a residential development with 3 blocks and 572 units, completed development at Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah, Kuala Lumpur.
2008
Expansion into Agriculture Sector
- Low Yat Group entered the agriculture resources sector with the acquisition of oil palm plantations in Kalimantan, Indonesia.
2010
myHabitat Luxury Apartments Completion
- myHabitat, a luxurious apartment featuring 383 units spread out across 2 towers, was completed at Jalan Aman, Kuala Lumpur.
2011
Privatisation of Asia Pacific Land
- The Group privatised and delisted Asia Pacific Land Berhad, a publicly listed real estate investment company on the stock exchange of Malaysia, Bursa Malaysia Berhad.
2012
Shiki Niseko Japan
- Completed Shiki Niseko, delivering a 67-unit luxury serviced residence in the premier Hirafu ski resort area of Hokkaido, Japan.
Riverwalk Village Hub
- Developed Riverwalk Village along Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah, Kuala Lumpur, which is a commercial retail hub adjacent to Rivercity Condominium.
2013
Semtec Industrial Park Completion
- 64 units of semi-detached factories completed development to create Semtec Industrial Park in Semenyih, Selangor.
2014
KL Mayor's Commendable Award
- The late Tan Sri Low Yow Chuan was bestowed with the Mayor’s Commendable Award for outstanding contribution at the Kuala Lumpur Tourism Awards.
2016
Medan Puteri Commercial Centre Completion
- Medan Puteri, a commercial centre consisting of retail and commercial shop houses, completed development within Bandar Tasik Puteri
2017
Tribeca Serviced Suites
- Completed Tribeca Serviced Suites, a landmark 37-storey tower offering 318 luxury suites and lofts on Jalan Imbi, Kuala Lumpur.
Seiring Residence Completion
- Expanded Bandar Tasik Puteri with the completion of Seiring Residence, introducing modern 2-storey semi-detached homes.

Garden Heights Completion
- Completed Garden Heights, expanding residential living options within Bandar Tasik Puteri.

LUXE Residences Sydney Completion
- Completed LUXE, a boutique development of 9 luxury residences located in Rose Bay, within Sydney's prestigious Eastern Suburbs.

Launch of ParkHomes
